What is a message?
Every Claw Way plan includes a fixed number of messages per month. A message is one AI request — one turn where your claw’s agent talks to a model for you (a chat reply, a web search summary, a document edit, and so on).

Included messages reset each month (no rollover). You never pay per user — the allowance is per claw.
Messages vs tokens
A message is the customer-facing unit. Under the hood, every message consumes a variable number of tokens (the pieces of text the model processes). Tokens are what the underlying model actually charges for:
1 message = 1 AI request = prompt tokens + completion tokens
How many tokens a message uses depends on the task:
- A short chat reply might use a few hundred tokens.
- A long document summary, code change, or web-research task can use tens of thousands of tokens.
Think of messages the way you’d think of Twitch Bits: a simple, flat unit you spend, while the work behind each one (bandwidth for Twitch, tokens for us) varies. You’re billed in messages, not in the token math.
Reading the billing numbers
Large numbers on the billing page use K / M shorthand (25K = 25,000, 3.1M = 3,100,000).
- Messages — how many requests the claw has made this month vs its included allowance.
- Tokens — the total tokens those messages consumed.
- Credits remaining — how much of the monthly message allowance is left.
- Plan / Messages — the claw’s product and its included messages per month.
